We are a small business in Tzununá, Guatemala that produces healthy, live, fermented foods and beverages. Our (ever expanding) product line currently includes various types of raw sauerkrauts, raw vinegars, organic black, green and white tea kombuchas, ginger beer, sparkling water kefirs, jun tea, organic kefir yogurt, super-food bliss balls, sourdough bread and more!

We regularly offer 1 day, 7 hour, intensive fermentation courses and teach retreats throughout the high season (December through July).  Check out our workshops tab for upcoming dates and to register.  If you have a group of 5 or more people interested in a workshop let us know and we will work with you to find a date that works for everyone.  Follow us as well on Facebook and Instagram to see what is happening in the wild world of fermentation.

Back in March San Pedro Food set the ambitious goal to give 1,000 lbs. of food every week until the end of 2020 to San Pedro la Laguna natives who are facing economic challenges because of the COVID-19 crisis. We are happy to tell you that thanks to all of the generous donations we have received, we have enough food and money saved to accomplish our mission and more. San Pedro Food will not be asking for any more donations in these difficult times as we continue to give at least 20 lbs. of food to 50 different families in San Pedro every week until the end of 2020. 

Thanks to all of you who have donated both money and extra food, to the Mikaso Hotel as the center of operations and to the Comité de Solidaridad as they continue to do an amazing job distributing the food. You are the reason why the total amount of food given to Pedranos in 2020 by San Pedro Food and the Comité de Solidaridad will be more than 20 tons!

San Pedro Food has been giving at least 1,000 lbs. of food to families in San Pedro la Laguna who are experiencing economic hardships because of the Covid-19 crisis every week since March, 2020.  Each Wednesday 50 different families receive more than 20 lbs. of corn, rice and beans. Fresh fruit is usually added. These consistent food donations will continue until at least January, 2021. 

San Pedro Food is truly a collaborative effort between foreigners and a native San Pedro organization called Comité de Solidaridad. San Pedro Food purchases food, and the Comité de Solidaridad identifies families in San Pedro with the most need and distributes the food accordingly. We are asking those of you that have a steady income or substantial savings to donate any amount of money you can afford to help feed some desperate families here in San Pedro. 100% of all money donated with bank fees deducted will be used to buy food for the less fortunate in San Pedro la Laguna. Salud para Vida is the number one supporter of San Pedro Food.  

Food donations can be brought to Samuel Ramirez’s house near the marketplace. Cash donations can be brought to Mikaso Hotel. Ask for Daniel. PayPal donations can be made to sanpedrofood@hotmail.com.  Donations can be made by credit card to San Pedro Food on GoFundMe.
